Track clues on the foreshadowing board
Once you plant a clue, remember where you want it to pay off.
- Open a work's Foreshadowing board.
- Record a clue and where it first appears.
- As the story moves forward, check clues that still need an answer.
- Plan a payoff in a suitable chapter and update the record.
Tip: Track clues readers may remember and expect you to resolve. Ordinary scene details do not all need an entry.
